Matra MS670B n.7 Le Mans Winner 1974
Le Mans Winner Collection, Limited Edition
Drivers: H.Pescarolo, G.Larrousse
Code: CW18
Official selling date: November 24th

The Matra-Simca MS 670 was a Prototype race car that won the Le Mans 24 Hours 3 times in a row (from 1972 to 1974) as well as the World Manufacturers Championship twice (1973 and 1974).

The car was designed by Bernard Boyer and Jean-Louis Caussin. The long tail version, designed specifically for Le Mans, was still called '670 B', 'B' being the distinctive letter of all Matras fitted with the Porsche 5-speeds gearbox.

The chassis was an aluminium monocoque, with fibreglass body.

The engine, whose sound was extremely loud, was a 60° 3-litres V12, with aluminium block and heads, 79.7 mm bore and 50.0 mm stroke. The motor version used in '74 at Le Mans was 'MS 73', with maximum torque of 320 Nm at 8400 RPM , and maximum power of 450 HP at 10500 rpm. On the Mulsanne straight the car could top 320 kph.

Brakes had Girling ventilated discs, all-round; in 1974, the rear brakes were moved inboard. Rims dimensions were 13² x 11² at front and 15² x 15² at rear.

The car weighted 693 kg.

Three were the '670 B's racing in Le Mans in 1974. Number 7 was driven by Henri Pescarolo and Gérard Larrousse who lead the race from start to finish, winning Le Mans for the third time in a row.

News from Slot.it;

Lancia LC2 #6 WEC Fuji 1000 Km 1985
Drivers: A.Nannini, H.Pescarolo
Code: CA08e
Official selling date: December 9th

The Lancia LC2, designed by Dallara, was engaged by Lancia for the first time in 1983 in the Sport-Prototype category, according to Group C regulations.

It was powered by a Ferrari engine, whose head were derived from those of the 288 GTO; its electronic engine management was highly advanced for that time. The engine itself was a 3 liters V8 90°, liquid-cooled, with two turbochargers, that could work at a maximum pressure of 3 bars, with four valves per cylinder driven by double over head camshaft. The maximum power was 840 hp at 7000 rpm. It was coupled to a Hewland gearbox with 5 gears. The wheels diameter was 15 inches at the front and 17 at the rear.

Chassis was made of aluminum and magnesium; body material was carbon fibre composite. The overall weight was 850 kg. As long as it raced with official factory backing, the Lancia LC2 was possibly the only car which could compete with the Porsche 956 in terms of pure speed, but it lacked the necessary reliability on long distances.

This car, driven by Alessandro Nannini and Henri Pescarolo, raced the 1000 kilometers of Fuji in 1985. As far as we know, it is being reproduced for the first time ever.

Ford GT40 Gulf
1969 Le Mans Winner
J. Ickx/J. Oliver
Retail £75.00
Due Jan 2015

After its low key launch as a white kit in December, the new GT40 model from NSR finally gets its coat of paint - and what a coat it is! This is the 1969 Le Mans Winner driven by Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver which turned out to be the closest ever finish at the 24hr event. Ford did not have high hopes of winning the event again and the Gulf team merely wheeled out the previous year's winning car and one of its sister cars. It is rumoured that Ickx was so unbothered about racing the car he wasn't even around for a pre-race team photo preferring to play golf instead, something he denied saying he had the fish he caught to prove it! Even at the start he refused to run across the track in the last traditional Le Mans start, preferring to walk calmly to his car, strapping himself in correctly and pulling away long after the marauding pack had left the grid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g63iM83Nwdc

The model comes with a sidewinder motor mount, and like the other of their classic series sports cars, is fitted with a 21K rpm shark motor.

News from Slot.it

Porsche 962 IMSA #86
1st 12h Sebring 1987
Drivers: B. Rahal, J. Mass, B. Leven
Code: CA25c
Official selling date: January 20th

New chassis: CS03t-60b

The Porsche 962 is a sport-prototype racing car created to replace the already successful Porsche 956, in order to allow it to race the IMSA and WSC Group C competitions.

It was one of the most successful racing cars ever and it won several competitions all over the world:
- World Sport-Prototype Championship in 1985 and 1986
- 24h Le Mans in 1986, 1987 and 1994
- IMSA GTP Championship in 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988
- 24h Daytona in 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989 and 1991
- 12h Sebring in 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988

The IMSA 'GTP' regulations required some modifications in comparison with Porsches designed for the Group C.
Front axle was shifted 12 centimetres ahead, so that driver's feet could stay behind the hubs of the wheels. The boxer 6 cylinders engine had a displacement of 3.2 litres, was air-cooled, with only one turbo, 2 valves per cylinder and one single overhead camshaft.

This car, driven by Bobby Rahal, Jochen Mass, Bruce Leven, won the 1987 Sebring 12 Hours racing for the Bayside Disposal Racing Team.

The reference chosen for the 4th anniversary of Scalextricpassion is none other than Sebastian Loeb. I attached sheet reference SP017 Citroen C2 Super 1600 in this case being the copilot his wife Severine Loeb with which participated in the Rallye du Var 2008 finishing in third place.

Unprecedented model in slot being in this case and as usual the Scalextric SCX-base with the necessary modifications by Manel. The front concentrated most changes (headlights additional spoiler, farera ...). RedBull spectacular decoration.

As always limited and numbered series of 50 units.

News from SRC regarding 2015;

SRC will not be attending the Nuremberg toy fair, but UK distributor; Gaugemaster, have the following information regarding SRC's plans for 2015;

SRC02305 Yardley McLaren M23 - 1973 Austrian GP - Peter Revson

SRC02304 Marlboro McLaren M23 - 1974 Argentine GP Winner - Denny Hulme
SRC02307 Marlboro McLaren M23 - 1974 Belgian GP Winner - Emerson Fittipaldi

SRC's recently appointed CEO Pedro Cieza spoke to Gaugemaster;

He explained how they (SRC) are constantly improving quality which has implemented a move back to assembly in Spain and also the decision to limit each release to just 1020 individually numbered units. They also see a big future in high detailed classic F1 cars as you will see from this news post, something some of us will be excited about. Sadly this does mean that RRP will be going up - no specific details at this time.

A full release schedule for the year we be available soon along with the 2015 prices which will affect all models after the next Matra which remains at the 2014 price.

We have been aware from sometime that they had transferred the future production of the Renault and Ferrari Turbo cars from resin to plastic, however these will not be the first F1 offerings from this company, the photos above will be the first cars. The pictures are for reference only as the first release will be the Marlboro car #6 driven by Denny Hulme, which should be with us within 6 weeks!

All three listed cars are due for delivery in the first quarter of 2015.

We will of course confirm prices and news of other new models for 2015 as soon as we get the information, but we can tell you that after these first three models expect a model of James Hunts F1 Hesketh!

LMP Cars

Audi R18 etron 2013: It was already announced for 2014, but production has been postponed to 2015, for the first time ever in slot car racing, an LMP car is modeled with a fully working, and effective, miniaturized 'grand complication' 4WD system, based around a toothed belt with special front shaft differential effect, never seen before in slot cars.
Coupled with the unique Flat-6 aw LMP setup, we proudly believe that this will be the benchmark for slot car models reproducing the Le Mans winners of 2012 and 2013.
Two models are planned for 2015: the 2013 winner, in a beautiful celebrative, limited edition case on stock at the end of the year and the black Le Mans test car on stock in April, both faithfully reproducing the 2013 'long tail version' of the Audi R18 e-tron racer.
These models take advantage of existing Slot.it Audi R18 chassis.
Audi R8 LMP 2000

The 5 times Le Mans winner, one of the most successful sports cars in motorsports history, will come out with a limited edition box, code CW19.

Spare parts
The range of Slot.it parts is continuously updated. We'd like to draw your attention on a few special items;

Torx T3 grub screws
Sometimes small things start a big revolution: we know it well, as Slot.it reinvented the market for racing and tune up parts for slot car racing using M2 hexagonal grub screws.

Now, for the first time ever, the same grub screw is available with a Torx T3 head: it's a custom screw, made for us specifically, and is compatible with any 'T3' torx drivers.
Torque limiting screwdriver
A complete redesign of the traditional Slot.it screwdriver, made with new and very special hard steel, this indispensable tool will come for M2, M2.5, and Torx T3 grub screws.

oXigen digital
After four full years of development, Slot.it digital wireless 2.4GHz system has evolved into a mature technology able to adapt to different digital systems as well - Scalextric SSD and Carrera Digital included. Raced in clubs and homes in Italy, UK and Spain, by analog as well as digital enthusiasts. Supported by popular third party applications like PC Lap Counter, and RCS64 (Minnaard/Schmidt)

External battery pack
A piggyback box, including a LiPo battery, and a recharge circuit, for all Slot.it controllers: recharge your battery from a mini-USB phone charger, and run wireless with oXigen, or with any system together with the Common Radio Interface and SCP cartridge.
Reprogrammed Scalextric Sport Digital Lane Changers
This is exciting news for all digital racers: Slot.it will release during 2015 both the code and the preprogrammed track pieces as well, so that Scalextric Sport Digital Lane Changers will benefit of anticollision and return to straight position features. For oXigen racers, the same parts will be compatible with Selective Lane Changing. This firmware upgrade enhances SSD lane changers for analog, SSD, and oXigen racers alike.
