News from Scalextric and the organisers of the UK Slot Car Festival 2015
Hornby has announced that its Scalextric brand will be the headline sponsor of the UK Slot Car Festival this May and will showcase the F1 Ultimate Race Track designed by Martin Brundle at the event.
Following the success of the first festival with over 3000 visitors in 2014, the UKs leading model car brand is delighted to be supporting the show as headline sponsor for the second time.
Visitors will be able to play for free on a host of tracks showcasing the very best of the Scalextric collection including rally stages, banger racing and digital layouts. As in previous years, there will be a meet and greet on the Scalextric stand where enthusiasts can discover the companys new and exciting product introductions for 2015.
Visitors to the show will also be able to experience first-hand The Ultimate Track designed by Martin Brundle and incorporating features from every circuit on the 2015 F1® calendar. Brought to life by Scalextric, the track is the biggest layout the slot car track experts have ever created. Parts of every single track from the F1 2015 season can be seen on Martins ultimate circuit which has been built to a massive 9m by 9m. Scalextrics impressive 45 metre long track is made up of 177 pieces and includes track laying, landscaping and all the final detailing. The layout includes over 40 turns, chicanes, straights and sections recognisable to Formula One fans around the world such as Casino Square at Monaco, Silverstones Copse and Abu Dhabis Marina Complex. The circuits shape is based on the figure of eight from Suzuka.
The UK Slot Car Festival 2015 will showcase every aspect of the slot car world to its audience of collectors, racers, and families, making it a fun and thrilling event for all.
